Restomod Car Show

Car Show and Open House Gallery

In celebration of our new location, we invited everyone we knew out to an open house/car show this past Saturday. The day started out perfectly with several beautiful classics cars showing up before we were even open! All in all we ended up with about 50 cars, which was the perfect amount for the casual car show we had planned just for fun. Ralph spent most of the day on the grill cooking up hot dogs while Mike did his rounds judging the cars. The weather was gorgeous and the mix of old and new friends was all that we could ask for.

We were having so much fun mingling and checking out cool cars that we didn’t get as many photos as we would have liked, but we did get a few and we hope you enjoy them! Thanks to everyone who came out and celebrated with us and we hope to see you on the road soon! Happy motoring!

Streetside Classics is a car dealer specializing in the consignment, purchase, and sale of classic and collectible cars to a network of qualified buyers and sellers. Owner, Donna Robbins, not only has a soft spot in her heart for the classic car community, but also children’s charities, and she uses her 3 showrooms located in Georgia, North Carolina, and Texas as a platform to promote both. Each year Streetside Classics plays host to 2 events geared at giving back to the community. The summer car show benefits A Gift Of Love (a local children’s food program), and the winter Holiday Open House (the day set aside to give back to their customers) benefits Toys for Tots.

Georgia’s inaugural event last winter saw over 2000 people and 200 cars, all while collecting about 4300 toys! This year they are hoping to make an even bigger contribution to Toys for Tots with the help of customers and neighboring businesses. The event runs in unison and cooperation with their block neighbors: Fred’s Historic BBQ House and Harley Davidson of Atlanta. Fred’s is a 30-year event that draws in Captain Herb Emory’s Mayberry Car, racecars, marine tanks and helicopters, car simulators, and a blood bank.

The event includes:

  • Holiday music
  • Refreshments
  • Large item raffles and giveaways
  • A festive Dress Your Car for Christmas Cruise In
  • Free Santa Pics

Every new, unwrapped toy is exchanged for one FREE raffle ticket, and even if you don’t bring a toy you can still donate $5 to get one of these coveted tickets. Raffled items range from $75 to $600 dollars.

American Resto Mods has sponsored the event by donating this beautiful street rod pedal car to be given away during the raffle, as well as providing some gift certificates toward our services.

We hope that everyone will take some time to come rock the block and donate some toys with us!

This year’s novelty trophies:

  • Santa’s Choice: The Off Season Sleigh
  • The Most “Classic” Classic (the car that best represents the theme and attitude of it’s era)

First Annual Smokin’ BBQ Fest Car Show Wrap Up

2012 marked the inaugural event for the Smokin’ Classics BBQ Fest and Classic Car Show located at Lake Lanier Islands Resort. It turned out to be a lovely day. The weather was perfect and location was a beautiful setting. The event was cozy, with about 60 cars registered for the classic car show portion, which is, of course, why we went. Not bad for their first year! Registration for the car show was free with  16 Trophy Classes and “Best All Around” won a 2 Night Stay At Lake Lanier Islands Resort. Really nice prize for the winner. We brought out several of our customer cars including the ’71 Green Firebird Formula’68 Red Convertible Mustang, and oddball Porsche 928.

In addition to the classic car and bike show the event included live music all day from 4 Atlanta local bands (Lefty Williams Band, Men in Blues, Donna Hopkins, and Mudcat) and an amateur BBQ contest. Doesn’t get much better than that.

We managed to snap a few pics in the midst of all the fun we were having. Check it out, be jealous if you didn’t go, and we hope to see you next year.
