If you made it this far (onto our website) it is safe to assume you are well acquainted with Hot Rod Magazine. If you know about Hot Rod Magazine, chances are you know about the Hot Rod Power Tour. If you are a fan of American Resto Mods, you probably know the we are Hot Rod Power Tour veterans. On the off chance that you have been living under a rock for the past 20 years, we will provide you with a whole array of informative links to get you up to speed later on in the post. We wouldn’t want you to feel left out!
For those of you who do know all of the above, the point is: WE MADE IT INTO HOT ROD MAGAZINE!! And so the story goes:
This year the entire Sikes family joined 19th annual Hot Rod Power Tour. A few days before their departure Hot Rod Magazine contacted Ralph (owner of American Resto Mods, Team Captain of the Sikes Family) to ask if their editor could cop a ride in one the the 3 classic cars they were taking on the Tour. Of course he said YES!
So, on the 3rd day Elena Sherr joined the Sikes family in Ralph’s 69 Fastback for a ride from Memphis to Birmingham that she would never forget. She documented her journey and has posted it on the Hot Rod Magazine Blog and now it appears as part of a feature on the 2013 Hot Rod Power Tour in the Novemeber 2013 issue of their Print Magazine. We had no idea when she rode with us that we would receive a 4 pafe spread on our shop, our cars, our family, and our time on the Tour. We are flattered and can’t wait to do it all over again at the 2014 Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour!!
