Atlanta Motorsports Park Member Social and Kart Track Opening

Aerial view of Atlanta Motorsports Park

It’s officially official. The entire first phase of Atlanta Motorsports Park is completely finished. For those of you who have been living under a rock for the past few years, AMP is a Motorsports Country Club similar to that of a golf club, where you can purchase a membership—but instead signing up to play golf, its members are signing up to enjoy a winding road course where they can drive their sports car fast…and legally!

This past weekend Atlanta Motorsports Park members convened at the inaugural Member Social, while also celebrating the opening of the .79mi kart track located on the grounds. By our count, about 250 members showed up to take advantage of the driving seminars, free karting, refreshments, and bouncy house for the kids. American Restomods proudly sponsored the event along with a local charity called BluSky.

The seminars covered topics such as track communication, ideal line around AMP, tire temps, and prepping your car for the track. For a track noob like myself, it is really nice to have access to seminars covering such a wide range of topics relevant to safety and plain “how-to”. The kart tracks ran from 9:00 am to 3:00 with cadet carts for the beginners and bad boy shifter karts for the more experienced karters. Hors d’oeuvres and drinks offered from 4:00 until 6:00 provided a superb finale for a perfect day.

If you haven’t thought about signing up to become a member, we highly suggest that you do. We have already had an array of fun times at the track, and this is surely only the beginning!

Enjoy this on-board video of one of our members taking a jaunt around the new kart track. **WARNING DUBSTEP INSIDE***

And one more for good measure. This one comes with the raw sound of the Rotax DD2 engine, albeit a little more shaky of a ride.
